Children’s Museum of Phoenix

CMOP’s focus is to engage the minds, muscles, and imaginations of 1-10 year olds and their families. Located within the historic Monroe School District Building in downtown Phoenix, this project was an incredible experience on many levels. Nicomia collaborated closely with the museum staff and committee board members to help them develop their vision for the 70,000 sq. foot facility.

Nicomia designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed the Texture Cafe, Market Place, Flying Frog, Eye Spy, Ian’s Corner, and Outdoor Maze exhibit areas. Attention to ADA criteria defined by the museum, as well specific safety requirements necessary for its young patrons, were considered throughout the design process. Our firm was also awarded the Public Arts project to design and fabricate the Fences and Gates project around the front courtyard.

We also provided services to fellow designers Thinking Caps, Ganymede Designs, and Ann Morton to develop concepts, build, and install Donor Recognition Wall, Building Big Room, Blocks and Tangrams, and Historical Entrance.

We take pride in the durability of our exhibits; they continue to withstand the love from over 2 million visitors to date.
